This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (“User,” “you”) and FRIENDO (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), governing your access to and use of the FRIENDO mobile application and website (friendo.in).
By downloading, installing, or using FRIENDO, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, you must stop using the app immediately.
1. Nature of the Service
FRIENDO is a community-based personal safety application designed to connect users with nearby verified individuals, emergency contacts, and support systems during distress situations.
The app provides features such as:
- High Alert (life-threatening emergency alerts)
- Request Help (non-critical assistance)
- Real-time location sharing (only during active alerts)
- Nearby verified user notifications
- Emergency contact alerts
- KYC-based user verification system
FRIENDO acts as a facilitator of communication and assistance, not a direct emergency response provider.
2. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal safety purposes.
You agree NOT to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or resell the app
- Reverse engineer or hack the system
- Use the platform for illegal, harmful, or misleading purposes
3. User Verification & KYC Responsibility
FRIENDO uses a strict KYC and manual verification system to maintain a trusted community.
By using the app:
- You agree to provide accurate identity details
- You consent to verification via ID, photo, and possible call/video verification
- You understand that fake or misleading data can lead to account suspension or permanent ban
FRIENDO reserves the right to reject or remove any user at its discretion to maintain platform safety.
4. Emergency & Volunteer Disclaimer (VERY IMPORTANT)
FRIENDO is NOT a government emergency service.
- We do NOT guarantee response from nearby users, volunteers, or authorities
- Volunteers are independent users, not employees or agents of FRIENDO
- Help responses depend on user availability, location, and willingness

- No guaranteed help
- No guaranteed timing
- No guaranteed outcome
Users must still contact official emergency services where required.
5. Use of Alerts & Misuse Policy
You agree to use emergency features responsibly.
Strictly prohibited:
- False SOS alerts
- Testing emergency features without reason
- Harassment using help requests
- Misleading nearby users
Violation may result in:
- Immediate account suspension
- Permanent ban
- Legal action if misuse causes harm
6. Location & Data Usage During Alerts
FRIENDO only shares your data when necessary:
- Live location is shared ONLY during active alerts
- Stops automatically after resolution
- Emergency contacts and nearby users receive limited data
All data handling follows our Privacy Policy
7. Mutual Risk Acknowledgment
When using FRIENDO:
- You may request help from unknown nearby users
- You may also respond as a volunteer
You understand:
- Interaction happens at your own discretion
- FRIENDO does not verify intent in real-time
- You are responsible for your own decisions and safety
We recommend:
- Informing family before accepting help
- Staying connected during the interaction
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
FRIENDO is NOT liable for:
- Failure of SOS alerts due to network/device issues
- Delayed or no response from volunteers
- Any physical, emotional, or financial damage
- Actions of other users on the platform
Use of FRIENDO is entirely at your own risk.
9. Platform Monitoring & Safety Controls
To maintain safety:
- Accounts are continuously monitored
- Suspicious activity may trigger re-verification
- We may restrict or remove users without notice
This ensures a trusted ecosystem for all users.
10. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate this Agreement
- You misuse emergency features
- You provide false information
- Required by legal authorities
You may also delete your account anytime.
11. Intellectual Property
All rights related to:
- App design
- Code
- Features
- Branding
belong to FRIENDO.
Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.
12. Updates to Agreement
We may update this Agreement anytime.
Changes may be communicated via:
- App notifications
- Website updates
Continued use = acceptance of updated terms.
13. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of India.
Jurisdiction: Punjab & Haryana courts.
